A Yancy Life instructors deliver innovative Math, Science, History, and Language Arts academic development instruction during the school day in a 1-to-1, small group, or whole class co-teaching environment.

To create strong school communities by cementing the development of life skills, academic excellence, parent engagement, civic leadership,
creative arts, and multi-media exploration while promoting higher education for all students with an emphasis on at-risk youth.
The Mission
- Increase academic performance and retention of educational content for all students grades K – 12.
- Teach students to develop personal finance skills that students will need to live independently as adults.
- Mentor students to develop strong character and social & emotional intelligence.
- Build solid and credible relationships with partner schools, communities & institutions by recognizing shared values & goals.
- Provide customized solutions for schools to serve as the center of their community, spawning increased parental and community involvement.
The First Seed
A Yancy Life was inspired by the life-changing academic mentorship delivered by Mary Yancy, better known as Momma, who survived a lifetime with only a primary school education. Despite the struggles of her life, Momma Yancy was a happy, spirited woman who blessed every life she touched. She served as a mentor and grandmother figure to youth in the Houston community. Through community service and a kind spirit, she saved many young souls from being lost, which plagues our neighborhoods and communities. Upon our incorporation as a 501c3 nonprofit in 2003, A Yancy Life committed to continue Momma Yancy’s ministry and will continue uplifting for decades.
